"Smart Illumination": Dynamic Lighting

Smart Illumination™ is a simple way to dramatically improve the performance of machine vision systems. By optimizing the illumination to only light objects of interest and suppress extraneous features (“clutter”) image processing gets easier and more accurate. Smart Illumination can be programmed to have a one or many illumination configurations for different or complex objects. Ring, planar, linear arrays available in sizes ranging from dozens to thousands of LEDs.

"Encinitas":Cameras & Image Capture

The Encinitas is a complete image acquisition subsystem with cameras, frame grabber board and cables. It's 1.3 MegaPixels digital cameras are available in two formats: the traditional style C-Mount and the 1" wide low cost SlimCam with lens.
The Encinitas PCI digital frame grabber simultaneously image capturefour video channels with frame rate limited only by the PCI bus. It has an internal multiplexer that can switch between four cameras per channel so that a single Encinitas card can connect to as many as 16 cameras. The Encinitas systems uses standard "Cat-5" cables; the same type used for Ethernet. This compares to other cameras that normally need custom cables that cost hundreds of dollars each.

MV-99: MultiVisor System Controller

The MV-99 System Controller connects to the SAMs via a multidrop data bus. The data bus uses a common modular jack and cable as used in telephone cords to "daisy chain" between SAMs. The bus contains all the signals and power needed by the SAMs. To increase the number of SAMs that can connect to the bus, there are 8 separately buffered data bus lines operating in parallel. And for high power actuators such as lights and motors, 8 auxiliary 24 VDC ports are provided. The MV-99 connects to the RS-232 port of the PC. An Ethernet port is planned for in the near future. The MV-99 is housed in a 3U size, 19" rack mountable chassis.

MiniVisor: Miniature Data Bus Controller

The low cost, single line MiniVisor can be used when only a few SAMs are bussed together. The MiniVisor connects to the RS-232 port of the PC and has all the functionality of the MultiVisor except an external 24 VDC source is needed. An Ethernet version is planned.

VIP: Rack Mountable Computers

Volution offers a complete PC system repackaged into 19" rack mount housing. It accepts the ATX compatible motherboard and can easily be upgraded at any time with the latest micrprocessor. A distinct advantage of Volution's rack mountable PC is that ALL connections are in the front, including power, PCI cards, general I/O, switches, etc. This makes installation and configuration of rack mounted equipment quick and simple. Housing sizes are "3U" with CD & floppy drives and 2U. Monitor, mouse, and keyboard not included.
